This October Dublin City will go gothic for the third annual Bram Stoker Festival, running Friday 24th through to Monday 27th October 2014. Festival Artistic Director Jo Mangan has been giving us a sneak preview of what’s in store and information about an upcoming artists’ call-out… (more)
“We’re thrilled to have the chance to channel the darker side in putting together the Bram Stoker Festival 2014. It’s going to be a fantastic and unexpected bank holiday weekend for those wanting to get their inner goth on, as well as aficionados of the work of Mr. Stoker himself.
For this year’s festival, we’re building on the wonderful work of the past 2 years, by making the festival really inhabit the streets of the city, for the delight of Dubliners and visitors alike. Expect everything from small-scale intimate work to large-scale interactive events. We aim to (re) animate the city for a final supernatural party before the winter darkness descends.
As part of Bram Stoker Festival 2014, there will be an open call for artists of all disciplines, details of which will be circulated in the next newsletter and will shortly be available on www.bramstokerfestival.com. The callout will be open to professional artists working in any art form and will be prominently featured as part of the festival. We look forward to hearing your eerie ideas.”
