The Red Stables, St. Anne's Park, Dublin 3

Dublin City Council Arts Office are delighted to present the Red Stables Christmas Art Programme 2010. The programme includes Family art workshops, Christmas Storytelling, a Puppet Show and a Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony with Lord Mayor of Dublin, Gerry Breen.

Saturday 11th December

Family Art Workshops 12pm-3.15pm - Drop by the Tack Room and make your own Christmas tree decoration for the Red Stables Christmas Tree and take one home too, with artists’ Mary Noonan and ChristProp_SnowmanFionnuala Hanahoe.

Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony 3.30pm - Join the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Gerry Breen as he switches on the Christmas Tree lights. There will be live music with Geraldine Mangan and Patrick Charles singing a selection of festive melodies from 3 – 4pm in the Courtyard and 4.30 – 5.30pm in Tír na nÓg Caife.

The Christmas Story 4-5pm - Family storytelling, poetry and Christmas songs with Aideen McBride in the Exhibition Space. Enjoy magical winter tales from Eastern Europe and other snowy climates.

Tír na nÓg Caife - Drop in to the café for a festive treat of mulled wine and mini mince pies, €1.50 per person.

Sunday 12th  December

Family Art Workshops 12pm-4pm - Drop by the Tack Room and write and decorate your own Santa letter or make a wonderful Christmas star or angel with artist Martina Galvin. Be inspired by symbolic dolls from other cultures and design and make your own Christmas hero or figure.

Storybear 3.30-4.30pm - Family interactive Christmas storytelling session with Púca Puppets, for 7-9 year olds, in the Exhibition Space.  Storybear loves Christmas stories and helps puppeteer, Niamh Lawlor tell and draw one, if you promise to help! Booking advised.
